Everest Base Camp with Gokyo presents an exciting alternative to the classic route, packed with stunning views and incredible trekking experiences! Crossing the Cho La Pass ((5340m) adds just the right amount of challenge. The breath taking panoramas you’ll encounter make it all worthwhile. This adventurous route not only highlights the mesmerizing beauty of the Himalayas but also lets you explore off-the-beaten-path trails, ensuring a memorable journey for every trekker!


Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. A Dare to Dream Adventures representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel.
  • Rest of the day free to explore Kathmandu.
  • Evening welcome meeting to discuss trip details, meet the team, and ask questions.

Day 2 – Fly to Lukla (2,850m) → Trek to Benkar (2,630m) – 5–6 hours

  • Scenic 20–30 minute flight to Lukla (or drive to Ramechapp during peak season).
  • Breakfast in Lukla, then trek downhill along the Dudh Koshi River. Pass Sherpa villages, mani stones, prayer flags, and suspension bridges.

Day 3 – Trek Benkar → Namche Bazaar (3,440m) – 4–5 hours

  • Walk to Monjo, enter Sagarmatha National Park.
  • Cross Hillary Suspension Bridge, climb Namche Hill, and catch your first glimpse of Everest and Lhotse.
  • Explore Namche Bazaar in the evening.

Day 4 – Namche Acclimatization Day

  • Hike to Syangboche (3,900m) for views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and more.
  • Visit The Nest (VR Everest experience) and Sherpa Cultural Museum.

Day 5 – Namche → Tengboche (3,867m) – 5–6 hours

  • Trek through pine forests, spot wildlife (pheasants, musk deer, red pandas).
  • Descend to Phungi Tanga for lunch, then climb Tengboche Hill to visit Tengboche Monastery.

Day 6 – Tengboche/Deboche → Dingboche (4,410m) – 4–5 hours

  • Walk through rhododendron forests, visit Upper Pangboche Monastery (optional Yeti skull).
  • Terrain becomes rockier as you approach Dingboche.

Day 7 – Dingboche Acclimatization Day

  • Climb Nagarsang Peak (4,800m) for views of Ama Dablam, Island Peak, and 8,000m peaks (Makalu, Cho Oyu, Lhotse).
  • Free afternoon in Dingboche.

Day 8 – Dingboche → Lobuche (4,900m) – 6–7 hours

  • Trek up Khumbu Khola Valley, stop at Thukla for lunch.
  • Visit Everest Memorial, then walk beside Everest Glacier to Lobuche.

Day 9 – Lobuche → Gorak Shep (5,288m) → Everest Base Camp (5,364m)

  • Trek on Everest Glacier to Gorak Shep. After lunch, hike to Everest Base Camp (2–2.5 hours). Celebrate and take photos before returning to Gorak Shep.

Day 10 – Kalapatthar (5,645m) → Gorak Shep → Dzongla – 8 hours

  • Early morning climb to Kalapatthar for sunrise views of Everest and surrounding peaks.
  • Trek to Dzongla via Lobuche East Base Camp.

Day 11 – Dzongla → Cho La Pass (5,420m) → Thaknak/Dragnag (4,700m) – 8–9 hours

  • Challenging ascent over icy slopes and rocky terrain to cross Cho La Pass.
  • Descend to Dragnag, known for its proximity to Ngozumpa Glacier and turquoise lakes.

Day 12 – Thaknak/Dragnag → Gokyo (4,790m) – 4 hours

  • Trek past the stunning Gokyo Lakes, reflecting the Himalayan peaks.
  • Overnight in Gokyo.

Day 13 – Hike Gokyo Ri (5,360m) → Trek to Dole (4,200m)

  • Early morning climb to Gokyo Ri for panoramic views of the Everest region.
  • Descend to Dole.

Day 14 – Dole → Namche

  • Descend to Namche, with free time to explore and shop.

Day 15 – Namche → Lukla – 8 hours

  • Return to Lukla. Farewell dinner with the mountain team.

Day 16 – Fly Lukla → Kathmandu

  • Early morning flight to Kathmandu. Free time and farewell dinner.

Day 17 – End of Itinerary

  • Airport transfer for departure or extend your stay in Kathmandu.
