Situated in the stunning Barun National Park of the Khumbu region, Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak in Nepal. It consists of three summits:
Mera Peak is an excellent introduction to peak climbing for beginner mountaineers. It is a non-technical climb, but it is physically demanding due to high altitude. Strong fitness levels and determination are essential for reaching the summit.
The trail to Mera Peak offers a quieter, more isolated experience compared to the main Khumbu region. Highlights include:
Day 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu
Day 2 – Fly to Lukla → Trek to Paiya (Chutok) – 2730m
Day 3 – Trek Paiya → Pangkoma – 2850m
Day 4 – Trek Pangkoma → Nigmsa – 2745m
Day 5 – Trek Nigmsa → Chetrakhola – 3122m
Day 6 – Trek Chetrakhola → Kothe – 3580m
Day 7 – Trek Kothe → Thagnak – 4358m
Day 8 – Thagnak Acclimatization Day: Hike to Glacier
Day 9 – Trek Thagnak → Khare Camp – 5000m
Day 10 – Trek Khare Camp → Mera Peak Base Camp – 5400 m
