Himlung Himal is one of Nepal’s great hidden gems — a true Himalayan expedition that combines remote trekking, authentic culture and a stunning 7000m peak into one unforgettable adventure.
Our journey begins far from the busy trekking trails deep in the isolated Nar Phu Valley – near the Tibetan border. Trekking through ancient villages, dramatic canyons and vast open valleys, this route offers a rare glimpse into a side of Nepal that still feels untouched by time. The people of Phu, their traditions, monasteries and rugged way of life create an experience that is every bit as powerful as the mountain itself.
As we move beyond Phu village, the landscape becomes wilder and more dramatic, with giant Himalayan peaks surrounding us as we establish base camp beneath the impressive Himlung Himal.
Standing at 7,126m, Himlung is regarded as one of the most accessible 7000m peaks in Nepal, making it an ideal step for climbers looking to progress toward bigger Himalayan objectives. But do not underestimate it — this is still a serious expedition in a huge mountain environment. The climb offers breathtaking exposure, high-altitude challenge and an incredible sense of achievement from the summit.
Himlung Himal is more than just a climb. It is an adventure into one of the most remote corners of Nepal, where culture, wilderness and high-altitude ambition come together in spectacular fashion.

Himlung Himal has received the alpine grading of a 2C.
The route consists of minimal technical climbs and glacier routes. So acts as a good progression onto 7000m climbs.
Himlung requires climbers to have a very high fitness level and a strong mindset to get them to the top.
Customers must have high altitude experience and preferably technical experience on a 6000m + mountain such as Mera Peak, Island Peak, Lobuche or similar. More technical climbing at lower altitudes would also be accepted.
